Heartland Aviation was established in August of 1990 at the Alliance Municipal Airport by Jeff and Gaylene Jensen.
In August of 1993, Heartland helped the airport become the home of the First Nebraska Statewide Flyin. We also celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the original Alliance Army Air Base Dedication that weekend.
In 1995 and 2004, Heartland was proud to be named the Nebraska Flying Farmers and Ranchers (NFFR) Airport of the Year. Nominations were sent to the International Flying Farmers and Ranchers those years and we also received the International awards for those years.
In 2000, we assisted the Alliance Airport to become the Nebraska Airport of the Year.
In 2010, we assisted the City in celebrating the dedication of the First Nebraska Veterans Cemetery located at the Alliance Airport. A good old Hangar dance was held at the Heartland Aviation Hangar including fireworks.
June of 2011, we were proud sponsors of the Air Race Classic and became the starting point for the race. All ladies were so enjoyable. We would love to do it again.
In August of 2013, we assisted the Airport become the home of the 21st Nebraska Statewide Flyin. This was the 70th Anniversary of the Original Alliance Army Air Base Dedication and also Alliance's 125th Year Celebration.
On August 21, 2017, we enjoyed hosting over 200 aircraft for the Total Eclipse. Quite a few spent the entire weekend taking part in all the activities in town.
