We will be updating this page in the next few days on recommended landing procedures.
Over 200 Single Engine Aircraft and 25 Twins and Jets have decided that Alliance Nebraska would be a great place to view the Total Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017. With that in mind we would like to advise you of current news and concerns.
Twilight on the 21st is at 5:37 am and Sunrise is at 6:07 am. We will be here to park aircraft at 5:00 am that morning. If you want to arrive earlier, let us know and we will accommodate your schedule. We feel as though the earlier we start parking aircraft, the safer everyone will be because everyone won't be trying to arrive in a one or two hour window. We do plan on closing the airport at 11:00 am that day and reopening it at 1:00 pm. Partial Eclipse starts at 10:27 am MT. Total Eclipse starts at 11:49 am MT and ends at 11:52 am MT. Partial Eclipse ends at 1:17 pm MT.
We will be closing Runway 08/26 for aircraft parking. The main ramp will be reserved for Jets.
We will have transportation from RWY 08/26 parking for attendees to the Ramp Area.
Breakfast and Lunch will be available by Main Hangar. Breakfast and Lunch will be available for purchase. Breakfast will probably be Breakfast Burritos or Biscuits and Gravy. Planned for Lunch is Burgers, Hot Dogs, and Chicken Breasts with Chips and Fruit. Also Water and Beverages will be available for purchase.
Eclipse Glasses will be available for $2.00. Plan on having T-shirts available for purchase to commemorate the occasion.
It is suggested that everyone bring a camping chair if available.
Be advised that landing and taxing procedures are subject to change.
